Susie Lee

Principal, TBL Capital

Susie Lee is a Principal at TBL Capital and brings over a decade of experience in venture capital and private equity investing as well as operational experience scaling up high growth businesses and social enterprises. Ms. Lee serves on the Board of Directors of Better Energy Systems (Solio) and actively supports management teams of CleanFish, Mission Research (GiftWorks), Gaia Herbs and Numi Organic Tea.

Prior to TBL Capital, Ms. Lee served as Director of IGNIA, Latin America's first commercial venture capital fund focused on social impact. Based in Mexico, she was an integral part of the leadership team which raised a total over $100 Million USD from global investors including JP Morgan, Soros, and Omidyar as well as multilateral institutions including the IFC and the Inter-American Development Bank. Ms. Lee also led pipeline development, investment evaluation, and deal execution in sectors including education, healthcare, organic food, affordable housing and water. In the US, Ms. Lee served as an investment professional at TAG Venture Partners and Technology Development Fund, where she evaluated investments in sectors including technology, healthcare, education and consumer services. Her work resulted in the investment of over $20 Million in 10 new companies, and execution of nearly 30 rounds of follow-on funding. Ms. Lee has served as Board Observer for several software and technology companies through growth and exit. To integrate her investment experience with social outcomes, Ms. Lee worked at JP Morgan's Bay Area Equity Fund focused on delivering a double bottom line of positive social and financial returns.

Ms. Lee serves on the Board of Directors of New Sector Alliance, a nonprofit organization focused on leadership development and capacity building for high impact social enterprises. Ms. Lee attended the MBA Program at the Wharton School of Business for one year and she holds a BA in History from Columbia University.
