Jim Andelman

Jim Andelman is a co-founder and General Partner of Rincon Venture Partners, an early-stage venture capital firm focused on information technology. At Rincon, Jim leads the firm's investment activities as well as fund administration. Immediately prior to Rincon, Jim provided strategic consulting and financial advisory services to technology firms.

Previously, Jim served as a Principal at Broadview Capital Partners, a $250 million expansion-stage venture capital firm. Jim led the firm’s investment activities in the software and services sectors. At BCP, Jim was responsible for developing investment themes, sourcing investment opportunities, performing company assessments, negotiating and executing transactions, and advising portfolio companies.

Before BCP, Jim was a member of the Technology Investment Banking Group at Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown. There, he worked on mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings and equity private placements, across a variety of sectors including software, services, computing equipment, networking equipment, imaging, semiconductors, semi capital equipment and storage. His area of emphasis was equity private placements for software companies.

Jim began his career with Symmetrix, a boutique management consulting firm founded by a Bain & Co. founder, which helped to create strategic advantage through the application of technology. At Symmetrix, Jim specialized in strategy formulation and economic modeling.

Jim received his MBA with highest distinction (first in his class) from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College, and his BS in Economics (magna cum laude) from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
