Jim Wolfe

Past CEO, Balance Bar

Jim Wolfe held executive level positions in Marketing and Sales with Welch’s, Coca-Cola, and Seven-up Foods. He has done consulting for Celestial Seasonings, Welch’s, Mott’s, Gatorade and Snapple. Mr. Wolfe’s most recent corporate experience was as President & CEO of the Balance Bar Company. He led the company’s growth from $ 1 million in sales in 1995 to $ 100 million in sales in 1999. The company went public in 1998 and sold to Kraft Foods for $268 million in 2000.

Mr. Wolfe has also worked with businesses on a volunteer basis. He has been an international consultant to businesses in Poland, the Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Siberia and Kenya. Locally, he has counseled many small businesses in Santa Barbara and throughout California as a volunteer with SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives).

Mr. Wolfe’s volunteerism also extends to non-profits. He currently sits on the boards of United Way, Hillside House, and the Fighting Back Mentor Program. Past boards served include Girl Scouts and the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation. Jim was born in Buffalo, New York and was one of nine children. He is a graduate of University of Buffalo with a BS in Business Administration. He and his wife, Marcia, have four children and seven grandchildren. They have resided in Santa Barbara for over twenty years.
